Click and Deploy Your Hyperchain! First Cohort of RaaS Providers Live on ZK Stack

Three leading Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) providers are leveraging ZK Stack to immediately allow projects, developers and enterprises to easily launch, deploy, and test layer 2 hyperchains powered by zkSync.

Ankr, Luganodes, and Zeeve will be the first wave of RaaS providers providing critical infrastructure to accelerate support for projects deploying as hyperchains.

When ZK Stack––a free, open-source modular framework for building sovereign ZK-powered chains— was introduced in June, we articulated the key properties that we hold necessary for decentralized blockchain networks to serve as a foundation for the emerging Internet of Value.

Since then, we’ve seen unprecedented adoption—from crypto-native projects and prominent brands, to nation states—building hyperchains on zkSync to power hybrid DEXs, tokenization of real-world assets, digital identity solutions, and Web3 games.

RaaS providers play a critical role in helping projects quickly and efficiently deploy hyperchains. They simplify setup by creating point-and-click interfaces, and provide best-in-class infrastructure so that core teams can be laser-focused on their specific applications, use-cases and end-users.

As the zkSync and Ethereum ecosystem and its network of hyperchains grow, so will RaaS providers, which could potentially function in a similar way to how managed cloud service providers including Rackspace, IBM, and others helped transition enterprises and scale applications in Web2, a market that surpassed $99 billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach over $164 billion in revenue by the end of 2027.

Build your own layer 2 hyperchain with ZK Stack

At its core, the ZK Stack offers two key features: sovereignty and seamless connectivity. Builders possess full rights to the code and enjoy unrestricted autonomy to customize every aspect of the chain.

Hyperchains are a collection of different blockchains, each with its own unique theme and offering. Developers benefit from a high degree of customization while users can seamlessly interact across hyperchains.

ZK Stack is the perfect entry point for enterprises, Web2 platforms, institutions, and traditional finance to prototype their web3 ambitions, as well as unlock the unique computing properties of ZK technology to deliver new experiences and create new value—similar to previous shifts in computing from cloud, to mobile, to containers.

The level of customizability and modularity opens the door to innovations that were previously inconceivable, with each chain powered by horizontal scaling and shared provers.

Speaking of provers…

zkSync’s prover, Boojum––the fastest proof system used in production to our knowledge––is designed with two factors at its core: (1) world-class proving performance and (2) the reduction of hardware requirements to incentivize decentralization. Boojum will allow anyone to run their own prover on consumer grade hardware, with as little as 16GB RAM, making it unique in the hyperscaling landscape.

ZK Stack grants you full autonomy to tailor your blockchain to your product or protocol use case. L2s will be sovereign but interconnected with hyperbridges, enabling free flow of users and liquidity. With the addition of RaaS integrations built by world class teams, these RaaS providers have significantly accelerated development and broadened the accessibility of ZK Stack.

To launch a hyperchain on testnet, developers can either:

  • Run it themselves using the ZK Stack development toolkit

  • Use one of the RaaS providers available for ZK Stack for simple point-and-click deployment

Ankr + Microsoft

This collaboration integrates Ankr's robust infrastructure solutions with Microsoft's industry-leading cloud capabilities, ensuring seamless scalability to meet the demands of diverse blockchain applications. Ankr will provide engineering and infrastructure for this new solution, which offers an accessible and expedient means of launching hyperchains.

Ankr's RaaS is the latest extension of its Scaling Services suite. Adding RaaS to Ankr’s scaling solutions alongside hyperchains as a service gives developers the flexibility to build highly scalable projects in a way that best meets their needs. It capitalizes on the robust security features inherent to Ethereum. Integration of zkSync’s ZK Stack in the RaaS framework enhances transaction throughput and reduces processing costs.

“Hyperchains from ZK Stack have the potential to become one of the most powerful rollup options available for developers. The distinctive scalability and security features, in addition to the seamless customization and deployment from Ankr’s Rollup as a Service, will make hyperchains an important evolution for the layer 2 space as a whole.” – Kev Silk, PM, Ankr RaaS

Luganodes

Luganodes is a world-class, Swiss-operated, non-custodial blockchain infrastructure provider that has rapidly gained recognition in the industry for offering institutional-grade services. It was born out of the Lugano Plan B Program, an initiative driven by Tether and the City of Lugano. Luganodes maintains an exceptional 99.9% uptime with around-the-clock monitoring by SRE experts. With support for 30+ PoS networks, it ranks among the top validators on Polygon, Polkadot, Sui, and Tron. Luganodes prioritizes security and compliance, holding the distinction of being one of the first staking providers to adhere to all SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and ISO 27001 standards.

“We're excited to partner with ZK Stack to pioneer hyperchains, a game-changer in blockchain scalability. Luganodes remains dedicated to delivering top-tier blockchain infrastructure, and together, we look forward to unleashing the full potential of hyperchains for developers and enterprises alike." – Anuj Shankar, CEO, Luganodes

Zeeve

Zeeve is the one-stop launchpad for custom ZK-rollups, providing enterprise-grade rollup infrastructure with 24x7 monitoring, Enterprise SLA, and migration assistance. Zeeve also has a robust ecosystem of partners integrated as plug-and-play apps and tools for the rollup chain.

"Our collaboration with zkSync to integrate hyperchains, their custom ZK Stack for ZK-rollups, into Zeeve's ZK-rollups launchpad is very exciting. Zeeve's Rollups-as-a-Service not only streamlines rollup launches but also guarantees enterprise-grade infrastructure, strong SLAs, rigorous security, and a diverse web3 infrastructure partner network. zkSync's innovative ZK Stack and commitment to excellence align perfectly with Zeeve's values." – Dr. Ravi Chamria, Co-founder and CEO, Zeeve

The ZK Stack at-a-glance

The ZK Stack allows you to build your own sovereign hyperchains without sacrificing interoperability and composability. With the addition of RaaS providers, builders can now deploy chains for very specific use cases taking advantage of its key attributes:

  • Free: The ZK Stack is developed under fully permissive MIT/Apache 2.0 open-source licenses, ensuring its availability at no cost, and we strongly encourage you to contribute and utilize it as you see fit.

  • Composable: Hyperchains built with the ZK Stack can seamlessly connect in a trustless network, boasting low latency and avoiding fragmented liquidity.

  • Modular: Customize and shape every aspect of your Hyperchain, from the choice of sequencer and data availability mode to defining your own economics, and much more

  • Battle-tested: ZK Stack is the most battle-tested framework, ensuring all transactions are fully verified by Ethereum with the power of ZK Proofs. Zero-Knowledge enables validity proofs to ensure the hyperchains' ecosystem state can't be corrupted and invalid transactions can't exist

  • Future-proof: ZK rollups are the future of Ethereum scaling. To harness the full potential of ZK’s superpowers, it is crucial to build the right architecture from the very beginning.

What’s next?

Beyond today's addition of RaaS providers, expect significant updates to be coming soon to ZK Stack tooling and capabilities. A number of independent core contributors to the zkSync protocol and ZK Stack, including the world-class team of developers at LambdaClass are building tooling that will allow builders to deploy instances of fractal scaling, L3s and set up Validium mode.

Stay tuned for more ZK Stack news on tooling, customization and contributors.
